IN MEMORIAM: Walter Robinson and Robbin Thorp

The campus community is invited to a memorial for Walter Robinson, Tuesday, Oct. 8, in The Pavilion at the ARC at the Activities and Recreation Center.

The retired associate vice chancellor of Enrollment Management died June 9. Because it was late in the academic year, as finals and commencement approached, his friends and colleagues decided to delay the memorial until the fall.

Dean Emeritus Winston Ko Dies at 76

Professor Winston Ko, dean emeritus of mathematical and physical sciences in the College of Letters and Science, died unexpectedly Friday (July 26) while hiking with family members in the Big Sur area. He was 76.

“Winston was an outstanding leader, a respected colleague and a beloved friend to the university, and his legacy will live on to improve and inspire everyone in our campus community,” Chancellor Gary S. May said.
