The University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management today announced a pilot program to offer its online MBA students the option to apply for interest-free deferred tuition payments, increasing access and affordability to the nationally ranked business school.

Miniseries Explores Climate Justice

A new YouTube miniseries, “Climate Justice,” created by ��ϲʿ��ͼ students, is available to watch on the Estudios Planeteando channel. The series consists of 10 videos about climate change from the perspective of social justice. Each video touches upon a different climate change topic ranging from wildfires and mudslides to coral reefs and the oil industry.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), as defined by the World Health Organization, “occurs when microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change in ways that render the medications used to cure the infections they cause ineffective.” AMR is broader than Antibiotic Resistance, which is limited specifically to bacteria that mutate in response to antibiotics, rendering the antibiotics ineffective.

When Professor Angelique Louie needed some help with her online course “Introduction to Research,” she enlisted a little help from experts such as science fiction author H.G. Wells, biochemist Rosalind Franklin and poet Alexander Pushkin.

Well, sort of. Wells, Franklin and Pushkin are among the “nonplayer characters” who inhabit an online game developed to accompany Louie’s course, developed by students from ��ϲʿ��ͼ’ Game Development and Arts Club.

Each episode of the second season of 13 Reasons Why, which first aired in May, starts with a warning from the actors that the show tackles tough topics like sexual assault, substance abuse and suicide.

“If you are struggling with these issues yourself, this series may not be right for you, or you may want to watch it with a trusted adult,” says Alisha Boe, who plays Jessica Davis.

“And if you ever feel that you need someone to talk with, reach out to a parent, a friend, a school counselor or an adult you trust,” adds Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay Jensen.

By understanding everything they can about a bumblebee colony, researchers hope to understand how California’s native bumblebees respond to changes in the environment and the availability of flowers, and how we can protect these insects that are so vital to both agriculture and wild plants.

Six people arrested, dozens of stolen bicycles recovered — but only a few students have gotten their bikes back.

The return rate probably could be higher if owners had licensed their bikes. Campus police, for example, recently reviewed license records to try to match ��ϲʿ��ͼ students, staff and faculty to 31 bicycles that Dixon police recovered. Only five of those bikes turned up in the campus database, according to Detective Mark Tingley said only five of those bikes
