Not everything is virtual (anymore). Local galleries (see below), and Pence’s auction starts Tuesday. All are hoping that museums can open locally in time for the Crocker’s Wayne Thiebaud exhibition in commemoration of his 100th birthday. (��ϲʿ��ͼ’ Manetti Shrem Museum hopes to have a celebration and exhibition in the new year.) Stay tuned.

Also, ��ϲʿ��ͼ Theatre Festival starts next week.

As always during the shelter-at-home order, the Arts Blog continues its efforts to help you enjoy art virtually! This month, by the way, we have experienced our greatest readership ever. This means people are craving art, we think, even if virtually. We deliver. We also give a nod to some of our most famous former faculty, Wayne Thiebaud and Manuel Neri. And if you take the walk suggested by the museum, you'll find fellow-faculty William Wiley's work, as well. We also feature another Manetti Shrem video offering a little project.

Modern Menagerie at the Crocker has a zoo connection; through March 31

The Crocker Art Museum is featuring part of its permanent collection right now in Modern Menagerie an exhibition of sculptures by Loet Vanderveen, a California artist originally from the Netherlands. Vanderveen became internationally recognized for his remarkable ability to capture animals' subtle expressions and gestures with minimal detail. The exhibition primarily features works from the Crocker's permanent collection.
