HOLIDAY PET BASKETS — ��ϲʿ��ͼ’ Mercer Clinic elves have issued their annual appeal for food and treats, toys and brushes, and coats and sweaters for dogs and cats belonging to homeless people.

The basket project is an all-volunteer effort started 23 years ago by staff members of the ��ϲʿ��ͼ Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Most of the original Mercer elves are still at it — even those who have retired — and newer staff members have joined in.

Mail Services is launching its 12th annual Holiday Food Drive on the Davis and Sacramento campuses. Mail personnel will pick up foodstuffs left with outgoing mail, Nov. 1-20 (this text has been updated to reflect food drive extension to Nov. 20), and then package them up for two big deliveries to the Yolo Food Bank (for Davis campus donations) and Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (for Sacramento campus donations).
