The trees on the Quad are wrapped with yellow ribbons this week in a ��ϲʿ��ͼ tradition now 11 years old, honoring servicemembers past and present during the week of Veterans Day.

Police Board to Meet With Public, May 20

The ��ϲʿ��ͼ Police Accountability Board will have only one public meeting in spring quarter, and the meeting will be online, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20. You’ll need to register in advance if you wish to attend.

The board holds public meetings in fall, winter and spring quarters to give people the opportunity to learn about the board’s work and how to file complaints, and to raise any issues or concerns. Under a normal schedule, two meetings are held each quarter, one on the Davis campus and one on the Sacramento campus.

Police Accountability Meetings Set for Feb. 19

The Police Accountability Board will hold its winter quarter public meetings on Wednesday, Feb. 19, on the Davis and Sacramento campuses. Both meetings are being held on the same day, as usual, but, in a change this quarter, they will not be held simultaneously. Board representatives will attend both sessions.

NEWS BRIEFS: New Academic Building in the Core

Bikes have been removed from a parking area and trees have been taken down on the north side of the Silo — the first signs of a new academic building that is planned in the area. The Teaching and Learning Complex, comprising general assignment classrooms, would occupy the site of the Surge IV collection of old portable buildings, and extend into the parking lot between Surge IV and the Silo.

��ϲʿ��ͼ last week posted the Police Accountability Board’s 2017-18 annual report including summary information and statistical data on complaints filed, as well as the board’s overall recommendations to the chief of police.

NEWS BRIEFS: Aggie Surplus Says, ‘Bring Us Your E-Waste!’

Departments and units are invited to get rid of their e-waste, for free, during a drop-off event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Hopkins Services Complex on Hopkins Road west of Highway 113. Aggie Surplus is the organizer, and will ensure all materials are recycled appropriately.
