The California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory System, run by the School of Veterinary Medicine, has opened a fourth lab — this one near Tulare, midway between Fresno and Bakersfield. The School of Veterinary Medicine operates the lab system for the state, to protect animal health and performance, and safeguard public health and the food supply.
