Be Part of the Cutout Crew for Basketball

Nov. 17: With the release of the women’s preseason schedule today, this article has been updated to correct the date when the Aggie Cutout Crew will “see” its first game. The first home game, women or men, will feature the women’s team vs. San Francisco, Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Aggie women’s and men’s basketball returns to The Pavilion in November and December, and while, officially, there will be no fans in the stands, we know of a way to get you in: as a member of the Aggie Cutout Crew — your image on cardboard!

First the Sacramento River Cats and then the Sacramento Kings honored our men’s and women’s basketball teams for their terrific seasons, and then, April 24, came official recognition — in the form of resolutions —from both houses of the state Legislature.

The men’s team made it to the Division I NCAA Tournament for the first time, and the women’s team advanced to the third round of the National Invitation Tournament. Go Ags!

Amy Oleynik, a program coordinator for student orientation, is on a summer adventure with her dad, Randy: They are biking across the country on high-wheels. This photo is from the online news organization Carson Now, which caught up with the Oleyniks in Carson City, Nevada, on Aug. 17. They began their journey five days earlier by dipping the rear wheels of their bikes in the Pacific Ocean at San Francisco.
