The University of California, Davis, has been ranked 17th among 705 colleges and universities in Money magazine’s 2016 “Best Colleges,” measuring educational quality, affordability and career earnings.

In its report released today (July 11), Money said �������ϲʿ����������ͼ is "an affordable school that produces results." The magazine noted that about 43 percent of the student body is considered low-income, but the university still has a six-year graduation rate of 83 percent — well above the average for schools with a comparable population of students.

Money noted how �������ϲʿ����������ͼ “was practicing sustainable techniques — such as using local produce, promoting biking and building energy-efficient buildings — long before such efforts became common on college campuses.”

From among roughly 2,000 four year colleges and universities, the magazine weeded out schools with graduation rates below the median, financial difficulties or fewer than 500 undergraduates. 

It ranked the remaining 705 colleges on 24 factors and measured comparative value by assessing how well students at each school did compared with what is expected for students with similar economic and academic backgrounds, and the college's mix of majors.
