Hasan Minhaj 鈥07 created and designed a limited-edition collection of men鈥檚 shoes for fashion brand Cole Haan. The collaboration was announced this week. Cole Haan x Hasan Minhaj features men鈥檚 hiker and sneaker styles. The first is available now, and the second will be released in December. In a video to promote the new collection, Minhaj returns to the Davis area to trace his roots in comedy. A big sneaker fan, Minhaj recounts how he had to buy dress shoes when he landed an audition for Comedy Central鈥檚 鈥淭he Daily Show鈥 in 2014. 鈥淭hey tell the story of all the things I鈥檝e been able to do,鈥 he said. Each shoe includes a nod to Minhaj鈥檚 Urdu heritage, with the words 鈥淟ive鈥 and 鈥淪urvive鈥 inscribed on the footwear tongues, as well as the date that audition. 鈥淚 wanted to pay tribute to that in the shoes,鈥 added Minhaj. Minhaj hosted Netflix鈥檚 political talk show 鈥淧atriot Act鈥 for six seasons. According to reports, he just landed a recurring role in the second season of 鈥淭he Morning Show,鈥 an Apple TV+ drama also starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
