Professor emerita and groundbreaking multimedia artist Lynn Hershman Leeson returns to campus as a Manetti Shrem California Studio artist-in-residence to screen several of her films and give a talk. At °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û×ßÊÆͼ from 1993 to 2004, she is a pioneer in the fields of photography, video, film, performance, artificial intelligence, installation, interactive and net-based media art.
We recently interviewed the artist at her home in San Francisco about the films she is showing and how they are connected to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û×ßÊÆͼ, how difficult it was to have her work accepted by the art establishment, and why she’s excited about interacting with students again.
